Syrex Golf Day hits 10-year milestone raising record funds for JAM South Africa
Syrex, leading provider of virtualised and hybrid network infrastructures and solutions, hosted its 10th annual golf day at the Bryanston Country Club on 06 October 2017. The event broke all attendance and fund-raising records with more than 120 participants, incredible sponsorships and a record in fundraising for the charity of the year – JAM South Africa.
“We provide much-needed nutrition and support to children who need it the most, and these funds will make a huge difference in helping us to impact upon the cycle of poverty,” says David Brown, Managing Director, JAM South Africa. “In South Africa, 26% of children under the age of six are stunted – they are not getting enough nutrition for the development of their brains and bodies so they can’t learn or play properly. We help them to get the food they need.”
JAM South Africa feeds one child for R50 a month or R600 a year, so the funds raised by the Syrex Golf Day are set to feed over 20 children for a year. For the company, this is an important part of their focus on supporting the growth of the next generation of South Africans and making a real difference to the lives of others.
“Our Golf Day was the ideal opportunity for us to help raise awareness around JAM South Africa and the work that they do,” says Ralph Berndt, Director, Sales at Syrex. “We worked hard to make the 10-year anniversary event into the most spectacular and exciting yet with personalised golf carts and sponsorships from BitCo, SEACOM, Teraco, Mimecast, Liquid Telecom and Labournet.”
The event was a resounding success, allowing attendees to show their mettle on the course while enjoying prizes, networking and an impressive line-up of entertainment. We would also like to thank our hosts the Bryanston Country Club for their hospitality on the day says Ralph Berndt.
